IgG Content & Quality: Our Lab Testing & Sourcing

Transparency you can actually check

Not all colostrum is equal, and the most important quality marker — IgG content — is one many brands don't put on the label. We do. Here's exactly what's in Holy Cow Health colostrum, how we test it, and where it comes from.

What is IgG, and why does it matter?

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is the main antibody found in colostrum and one of the key reasons people choose it. A higher, verified IgG content is a good indicator of a potent, well-preserved colostrum. Gentle, low-temperature processing matters too, because excessive heat can degrade IgG.

Our IgG content: 20–25%

Holy Cow Health 100% pure, undiluted bovine colostrum powder contains 20–25% IgG. We process gently to retain natural bioactivity and avoid the high temperatures that can denature IgG proteins. In chromatographic analysis our colostrum shows less turbid material than many alternatives — an indicator of a purer product with accurate IgG levels.

How we test

  • Each batch is monitored and tested for quality, safety and consistency.
  • GMP manufactured and certified to New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) standards accepted in the USA, Australia and Europe.
  • Third-party Certificates of Analysis are available on request.

Where our colostrum comes from

  • First-milking colostrum, collected within 24–48 hours of calving.
  • Grass-fed, pasture-raised cows in the South Island of New Zealand.
  • Free from added hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and GMOs.
  • Ethically sourced — calves receive their fill first; we take only a small share.
  • Same-day processed and flash-pasteurised to preserve bioactivity.

The New Zealand advantage

New Zealand's clean soil, water and air reduce the risk of contamination from heavy metals and pollutants. The country is GMO-free and maintains strictly enforced, government-overseen standards for food and animal welfare — a strong foundation for a clean, traceable product.

Compare with confidence

When comparing colostrum brands, look for: a disclosed IgG %, first-milking sourcing, gentle processing, grass-fed and additive-free sourcing, and available lab testing. Holy Cow Health meets all five. Explore our colostrum range →
